A bridge on I-15 over Lake Hodges will be named the Chelsea King Memorial Bridge in memory of King, a 17-year-old Poway High School student whose body was found in February 2010 after she disappeared during a run in Rancho Bernardo Park.

The legislation also designates the portion of state Route 78 between Old Milky Way and West Zoo Road alongside the San Diego Zoo Safari Park as the Amber Dubois Memorial Highway.

The highway memorial legislation was co-sponsored by Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher.
