Riverside pit bull owners must sterilize pets
Last Updated: 65 days ago
People who own pit bulls in Riverside County must now have their dogs sterilized.
There are a few exceptions.
Riverside County supervisors created the ban because pit bulls are rarely adopted and many of them are being euthanized.
People spoke out on both sides of the issue, including the woman whose granddaughter was killed by a pit bull.
"It seems like through all the tragedies people would wake up and see that these dogs are not to be pets," said Linda Collingworth of Perris.
The ordinance will only apply to unincorporated parts of Riverside County.
