ESCONDIDO, Calif. - Some Escondido residents and their pet were displaced Thursday by a fire that swept through their apartment, causing about $30,000 damage, authorities said.
The fire at the Archstone apartment complex in the 1300 block of West Ninth Avenue was reported at 9:41 p.m. Wednesday, according to Escondido fire Battalion Chief Ken Slaven.
"The first arriving fire units confirmed the situation and aggressively attacked the fire," Slaven stated. "The fire was contained six minutes after the first engine arrived on scene."
No injuries were reported, he said.
The battalion chief estimated damage at $25,000 to the structure and $5,000 to its content.
