Request for mail-in ballot must be received by Tuesday

Applications must be received by Oct. 30

SAN DIEGO - Tuesday is the last day to request mail-in ballots for next Tuesday's general election, according to the San Diego County Registrar of Voters office.

Residents can fill out applications on the back of sample ballots and voter information pamphlets, download an application from the Registrar of Voters website at sdvote.com, or send a letter and include the voter's name,
registered address, name and date of the election, the address where the ballot is to be mailed, and the voter's signature.

The applications must be physically received by the Registrar of Voters office, 5201 Ruffin Road, no later than 5 p.m. Mailed applications postmarked Tuesday but received later will not be accepted. Applications and letters can
also be faxed to (858) 694-2955.   Permanent mail voters don't need to reapply, according to the registrar.

Those who miss the deadline but can't make it to a polling place can cast a ballot at the Registrar of Voters office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day between now and Election Day, except for Sunday.
