SAN DIEGO - A female driver was taken into custody Monday afternoon after a pursuit that began in the Ramona area and ended in a crash in Poway.
Shortly before 5 p.m., a California Highway Patrol tried to pull over a woman in a blue Ford Expedition for running a stop sign in Ramona. However, authorities said the Expedition drove off, prompting CHP officers to pursue.
Authorities said the Expedition reached speeds of up to 85 mph and ran several red lights before crashing about 100 feet down a ravine in the 15000 block of Poway Road.
The woman, who suffered some scratches to her face and injured her leg, was taken into custody.
No other injuries were reported.
