LAKESIDE, Calif. - A Lakeside convenience store was robbed at gunpoint early Saturday and sheriff's officials asked for the public's help to find the suspect.
The robber brandished a handgun and demanded money from an employee at the Circle K on Willow Road, near state Route 67, shortly after 3 a.m., sheriff's Sgt. Dave Martinez said.
"In fear for his safety, the employee complied with the suspect's demands," Martinez said in a statement.
The suspect then took off in an unknown direction, Martinez said.
Sheriff's officials described the suspect as black, 20 to 30 years old, about 5 feet 8 or a little taller and weighing around 170 pounds. He was wearing a dark colored beanie, a dark bandana, a baggy white t-shirt, jeans and black gloves.
Martinez asked anyone with information to call the sheriff's department at 888-565-5200, or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
