Ticket worth $943,604

LA MESA, Calif. - A ticket that got five numbers, but missed the Powerball number was purchased at Excalibur Liquor in La Mesa and is worth $943,604, a California Lottery official announced Thursday.

Another ticket with five numbers, but missing the Powerball number, was sold in Florida and is worth $1 million, the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game, announced.

California law requires major payoffs of lottery games to be paid on a pari-mutuel basis.

There were no tickets sold with all six numbers and the estimated jackpot for Saturday's drawing is estimated to grow to $127 million.

The numbers drawn Wednesday were 7, 46, 47, 52, 57 and the Mega number was 17. The estimated jackpot was $105 million.

The drawing was the sixth since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball number is 1 in 175,223,510, according to the Powerball website. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 31.85.

The Powerball game is played in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
