Power Restored In Dehesa After Solo Crash

Vehicle Slams Into Utility Pole, Power For Hundreds Of Homes Knocked Out

A vehicle slammed into a utility pole near the Sycuan Casino Tuesday, causing an overnight blackout that affected several hundred homes in the rural area.

The single-vehicle crash on Dehesa Road, near Harbison Canyon Road, was reported about 11:40 p.m. Monday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The non-injury accident left roughly 200 San Diego Gas & Electric customers without power through the morning, the utility reported.

Service was fully restored in the area by early Tuesday afternoon, according to SDG&E public affairs.

It was unclear if the casino was affected by the blackout. A spokesman for the gambling hall did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment.
