EL CAJON, Calif. - Officials are trying to find out what caused eight utility poles to topple in San Diego County, leaving 1,500 El Cajon residents without power.

City spokeswoman Monica Zech says it's unclear why a pole toppled and brought down the others Thursday afternoon but she says most poles have been replaced Friday morning.

Only about 70 people remain without power and Zech says that should be down to about a dozen by noon.

Nobody was hit when the poles, carrying electrical and cable TV lines, fell down. Zech says a weak pole may have collapsed or a tree limb may have fallen onto it.
