RAMONA, Calif. - Power has been restored to thousands of customers in the Ramona area.
The outages occurred just after 10 a.m. Sunday. At one point, 2,747 customers in parts of Ramona, San Diego Country Estates, Santa Ysabel, Mesa Grande and the La Jolla Indian Reservation were without power, according to San Diego Gas and Electric's outage map. Other communities included Highland Valley, Iron Mountain and Barona.
A spokeswoman for SDG&E said the outage was not wind-related. She said an equipment problem due to a capacitor caused the outage. With the extra crews on standby due to the red flag warning, the problem was repaired just after 12:30 p.m.
