Power restored in east, south San Diego areas after outage

SAN DIEGO - Power was fully restored late Wednesday afternoon following a nearly two-hour outage that affected about 12,000 customers in the eastern and South Bay areas of San Diego, according to San Diego Gas & Electric.

The outage was reported just before 2:30 p.m. and affected customers in the following communities: Paradise Hills, Skyline, Bay Terraces, Logan Heights, Mountain View, National City, Lemon Grove, Rancho San Diego and Spring Valley.

An SDG&E official told 10News a part of a substation in the Paradise Valley area lost power, leaving 12,200 -- at the most -- without power.

A Paradise Valley Hospital spokesperson told 10News the outage did not affect their building.

At about 4:40 p.m., SDG&E said all power was restored for all customers affected.

The exact cause of the outage is under investigation.
