SAN DIEGO - Videos of people taking on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge are all over social media, and now a Poway man living with ALS is joining viral phenomenon.
Jim Hicks, who was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease five years ago, may not be able to walk or talk, but on Sunday he took on the challenge.
After the challenge, he thanked others who have done it and then challenged some friends from high school and all of his Facebook friends.
Over the last two weeks, nationwide, the ALS Association has raised more than $9.7 million and counting. They also have more than 185,000 new donors.
