Registrar Deborah Seiler told a local television station that some kind of glitch prevented results from being posting to the website, but there was no problem counting votes.

The entire website was down for about two hours, until it returned around 10:20 p.m.

She said county information technology vendor Hewlett-Packard was troubleshooting the problem and it didn't appear to be a software issue, she said.

Results were being handed out on paper at "Election Central" at Golden Hall in downtown San Diego while the website was down.
