Victim: Homeless woman stabbed me after asking for money

SAN DIEGO - San Diego police were on the lookout Thursday for a homeless woman accused of stabbing another woman over money in the East Village.

The stabbing in the 1200 block of Broadway was reported at 11:14 p.m. Wednesday, according to San Diego police.

The 40-year-old victim was walking with her husband when the suspect approached and asked for money, Officer David Stafford said in a statement.

The victim gave the suspect a small amount of money but the suspect wanted more and physically attacked the victim, stabbing her in the forearm, he said, adding that the wound was not life-threatening.

Police described the suspect as a 5-foot-3 black woman in her late 30s, with blonde hair.
