SAN DIEGO - Authorities said Pacific Highway is down to one lane northbound and Palm Street is closed after a water main break Wednesday morning flooded the roadways.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the 6-inch concrete water main broke at around 5 a.m. in front of Landmark Aviation in the 2900 block of Pacific Highway between Lindbergh Field and Interstate 5.
Water to the area was shut down, affecting two businesses.
Officials said the main break shouldn't affect commercial travel, but private passengers out of Landmark Aviation could be delayed.
Motorists in the area were urged to use either Sassafras Street or Laurel Street as an alternate route around the closure.
Santo Fragale, manager of nearby Park & Go, called in main break Wednesday morning because he was worried the street could cave in. Water crews were quickly on scene and busy at work right away.
"With all the recent talk of sinkholes I immediately recognized it as a dangerous situation," Fragale said.
Fragale sent drivers to the back gate, but buses at Budget Rent A Car -- across from Palm Street -- were on a short delay after being re-routed.
Jim Skomski, service manager at Budget Rent A Car, said, "God, everything runs off water … You can't wash your hands, the purified water for drinking doesn't work, the bathrooms aren't working."
"It's kind of puzzling," Skomski added. "They had just replaced all that piping about six months ago."
10News checked with the Public Utilities Department and learned it is not part of the replacement project.
The department has 100 miles left of a 3,200-mile project to swap out old pipes, but that applies to cast iron.
The pipe that cracked Wednesday is concrete and was installed in 1955.
Utility crews said they hope to have the repairs wrapped up by around 2 p.m.
