SAN DIEGO - A man armed with a knife forced his way into a home in Sherman Heights early Wednesday and ransacked the residence while the man who lives there waited in a bathroom for the robbery to be over, police said.

The home invasion in the 200 block of 22nd Street was reported shortly before 12:30 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

The victim told investigators the robber threatened him with the knife and ordered him to stay in the bathroom, Stafford said in a statement.

No one was hurt.

Police described the robber as a muscular black man in his late 20s, around 6 feet and 250 pounds, last seen wearing a blue shirt. Police said he fled with property from the residence but the exact loss was not immediately released.
