LA MESA, Calif. - Four people who stole alcohol from a liquor store and fought with store employees Saturday are being sought by police Sunday.
The incident happened about 7:04 p.m. in the 5900 block of Severin Drive north of Amaya Drive, La Mesa Police Lt. Ray Sweeney said.
"When officers arrived they discovered an altercation between liquor store employees and suspects that had stolen alcohol," Sweeney said. "The employees chased two male and two female suspects out of the store and fought with them. During the fight, both employees were hit in the face by the two male suspects and sustained bruises."
Sweeney said injured store employees refused medical attention. The loss was a bottle of liquor, authorities said.
The four people were last seen running south on Severin Drive. A search of the area by La Mesa Police and ASTREA police helicopters failed to locate the four, who remain at-large.
Both male suspects were described as being approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall with medium builds in their mid-20s. One suspect had a shaved head and mustache and was wearing a white tank top and jeans.
One female suspect was described as being approximately 4 feet tall with a thin build in her mid-20s. She had long black hair and was wearing a beige shirt and jeans. The other female suspect was identified as being about 5 feet tall and weighing 140 pounds. She had dark curly shoulder-length hair and was wearing a leopard print shirt.
