SAN MARCOS, Calif. - A thief grabbed a clerk while robbing a San Marcos 7-Eleven store of $124 early Thursday, authorities said.
The robbery at the convenience store at 578 E. Mission Road occurred around 1:45 a.m., according to San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Henry Lebitski.
The thief grabbed the clerk from behind and put an unknown object to the back of the clerk's neck while demanding money, the sergeant said in a statement.
The clerk complied and the thief fled on foot with $124.24, he said. No injuries were reported.
Deputies were looking for a white or light-skinned Hispanic man in his early 20s, around six feet and 175 pounds, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and a light-blue bandana over the lower half of his face.
