SAN DIEGO - A man with a knit cap pulled down over his face used a demand note to rob a Scripps Ranch bank Friday afternoon.

The thief entered the Chase branch office in the 9900 block of Scripps Ranch Boulevard about 3:40 p.m. and handed the written message to a teller, according to San Diego police.

After the clerk turned over an undisclosed amount of cash, the bandit, who was wearing a gray sweat shirt with the hood covering his head, left the bank and fled the area on foot, SDPD Officer Frank Cali said.

A detailed description of the robber was unavailable.
