SAN DIEGO - San Diego police are searching Friday for a driver who plowed into multiple vehicles and left the scene.
The crash happened at 10:45 p.m. Thursday on northbound Columbia Street just south of Palm Street.
10News learned that a Dodge RAM pickup truck barreled into a Kia Soul and a Nissan Maxima.
A Chevy Lumina also appeared damaged.
The Nissan was hit with so much force, it launched onto the curb before coming to a stop at some stairs.
The truck had Texas license plates.
Police are investigating the crash.
Michael Keating, a witness, told a 10News crew that the crash made a loud noise.
"I just heard a loud bang, a bunch of scraping," he said. "This car right here that slammed into the tree, the other car was into the side of the house and the other car was into the side of that house."
Keating said there has been similar incidents in the neighborhood.
"I've lived here less than a year and this has happened at least twice," he said. "It’s really narrow and then it comes up the hill and there are a lot of blind spots, so when you’re coming up the hill I don’t think people really realize how much it tapers in, and next thing you know if you’re not paying attention, you’re going to scrape and bang around."
