SAN DIEGO - San Diego police searched Monday for two men caught burglarizing a home by a resident who was struck in the head with a vase and restrained with duct tape, authorities said.
The burglary in the 1800 block of Oro Vista Road was reported about 5 p.m. Sunday, according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford. The resident, who is in his 20s, was away when the burglars broke in but returned home while they were still inside the residence, he said in a statement.
One of the burglars struck the resident in the back of the head with a vase, causing a large gash, he said. The resident was then restrained with duct tape as the burglars continued to ransack the home for about 30 minutes, according to Stafford.
Police are looking for a light-skinned black man who is about 5 feet 8, has a medium build and wore a white shirt and black pants. No description of his accomplice was available, police said.
