Police say mini-mart in Loma Portal was robbed overnight

Robbery at AM/PM store at 2940 Lytton St.

SAN DIEGO - A gunman robbed a gas station mini-mart in the Loma Portal area of San Diego early Saturday, police said.

San Diego police Officer David Stafford said a man armed with a handgun entered the AM/PM store at 2940 Lytton St. just after 3 a.m. and demanded cash from the clerk.

Stafford said the man took the money and fled on foot toward Rosecrans Street.

He was described as black, in his late 20s, with a medium build and wearing a knit cap, blue shirt and black pants.

No injuries were reported.
