SAN DIEGO - A 44-year-old man was shot in the hand and leg in an apparent gang-related attack in Southcrest early Wednesday, police said.

The man was walking in the 4100 block of Keeler Avenue about 1:10 a.m. when a man drove up in a blue Honda Prelude and issued a gang challenge, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

The man in the car then got out of the vehicle and opened fire on the victim, striking him three times in the hand and leg, Delimitros said in a statement.

None of the wounds were life-threatening, he said.

Gang detectives were investigating.
