SAN DIEGO - San Diego police on Wednesday say a man responding to a Craigslist ad was kidnapped in Ocean Beach
The incident occurred at about 2 p.m. in the 5000 block of Narragansett Avenue. Police said the victim responded to an ad on Craigslist to purchase a camera lens and met with the suspect at a hotel room to purchase the item.
When the victim arrived, the suspect threatened him with a handgun and forced the victim to drive him to his bank.
The victim drove the suspect to the bank, but the teller line was too long, so the suspect told the victim to drive away.
Police described the suspect as a white man who was in his mid 20s, 6 feet tall and having a thin build. No injuries were reported.
No more additional details were released by police.
