SAN DIEGO - A student brought a pellet gun to Mission Bay High School on Friday and school officials say everything was done right to ensure the staff was notified and could respond quickly.
A school spokesman said another student stepped out of class and reported seeing what they thought was a gun in someone's backpack.
School police and San Diego police responded and removed the student from class. After determining it was a pellet gun in the bag, police took the student in for questioning.
The student was not arrested but the school does have a zero tolerance policy.
