A man who drove his car into a La Jolla-area restaurant Sunday evening, injuring four people, had been involved in previous DUI-related incidents, police said.Ronald Troyer, 67, was behind the wheel when he plowed his Chrysler into the Cass Street Café and Bakery in the Birdrock area.Three teenagers were hospitalized with serious injuries as a result of the crash, and Troyer was arrested on suspicion of felony drunken driving, police said.Police told 10News Troyer's arrest was his third for DUI and they believe he was under the influence of drugs in Sunday's crash because he does not remember how he got there."Very concerning to me that drunk drivers are in the beach communities and, in this case, a drunk driver runs through a restaurant almost killing several people, including children," said witness Jerry Hall.La Jolla resident Sharon Hinckley, who was on a walk when she heard the sirens, said, "I saw one person being carried on a stretcher to an ambulance and by the time we got here all of the others had been taken away."Two restaurant patrons were also injured in the crash.Troyer was convicted in 2004 and 2005 for his past DUI arrests, and police said his license had been suspended 7 times."It might have been a good idea to stop him sooner," said Hinckley. Two of the teen victims remain at Rady Children's Hospital in stable condition, and a family friend told 10News another victim had surgery for a broken pelvis.
