SAN DIEGO - A 46-year-old man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of stabbing a 30-year-old man with a screwdriver, police said.

The incident occurred at 12:48 a.m. in the 3700 block of 46th Street, south of University Avenue, said San Diego Police officer Dino Delimitros.

"The victim and a companion had confronted the suspect and some friends for partying in a van in the alley behind his residence," Delimitros said. "The victim suffered a non-life threatening stab wound to the shoulder."

Mid-City detectives were investigating.
