Police: Man Subdued With Taser Gun When He Refuses To Drop Knife

A man who allegedly tried to stab two pedestrians in Hillcrest was subdued with a Taser gun when he refused to surrender to officers, police said Friday.

Nobody was injured during Thursday night's attempted stabbings in the 1700 block of University Avenue, according to San Diego police.

Officers subdued the man with a Taser gun when he allegedly refused to drop the knife. He was taken to jail and booked on several charges, police Sgt. Rich Nemetz said.

"The incident was completely random and unprovoked," Nemetz said.
