A 79-year-old San Diego man, who stabbed his wife because he thought she was poisoning him, was arrested, and two other family members were cut while trying to get the knife away from him, a police officer said Saturday.
The family drama at a home in the 9300 block of Galvin Avenue occurred about 5:30 p.m. Friday, San Diego police Officer David Stafford said.
The man, whose name police withheld, thought family members were poisoning him with medication, he said. The man stabbed his 80-year-old wife on top of the head, and the man's son-in-law and daughter intervened, Stafford said.
The 49-year-old son-in-law was stabbed in the back and the neck, and the man's 40-year-old daughter was cut on an index finger, Stafford said.
The woman, her daughter and son-in-law were taken to hospitals to be treated, and the man was arrested.
