SAN DIEGO - An ongoing squabble between two men escalated into violence in Chollas Creek early Wednesday, when one of them used a knife to slash the other's arms, police said.
Officers were called to the 5200 block of University Avenue about 1:30 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford. They found one man with a deep cut to his right arm and a smaller laceration to his left arm, Stafford said in a statement.
The assailant -- a bald 6-foot-tall man -- fled eastbound on foot before officers arrived, he said, adding that the man had "issues with (the victim) from a prior incident."
About 11:45 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to the same area when a 36- year-old man stabbed another 36-year-old man in the shoulder with a kitchen knife at the Taste of Africa restaurant at 5241 University Ave.
According to police, the victim from Sunday's stabbing was taken to the hospital to be treated for a non-life threatening stab wound, while his alleged attacker was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
