Police: Man run over by SUV driver after dispute

SAN DIEGO - A man who argued with the driver of a green SUV for speeding down a San Diego street confronted the motorist again and was run over, suffering non-life-threatening injuries, a police officer said Sunday.

The incident occurred at 9:20 p.m. Saturday in the 8500 block of Hurlbut Street, said San Diego police Officer Robert Heims.

The 25-year-old victim had gotten into an argument with the SUV driver a week ago because he felt the vehicle was speeding down Hurlbut Street, Heims said.

The same SUV was speeding down the 8500 block of Hurlbut Street Saturday, he said.

"There was a fight near the vehicle and the victim fell on the ground. The SUV fled the scene and ran over the victim," Heims said.

The victim was transported to a hospital with serious internal injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, the officer said.
