SAN DIEGO - One person was injured after a shooting in downtown San Diego Tuesday evening, police said.
The shooting was reported at about 8:46 p.m. near 9th Avenue and Broadway. Four young men were walking together toward a tattoo place. One was lagging about 30 feet behind the rest of the group while on the phone.
A car pulled up to the one who was lagging behind.The driver, who was the only person seen inside the car, exchanged words with the pedestrian. The driver then shot the pedestrian multiple times, including in the chest.
The suspect was described as a dark-skinned male who left the scene in either a Mazda or Nissan type of car, which is colored dark green or dark red and has several stickers on it.
The victim was transported to a local hospital. There is no word on his condition.
The area of 9th and Broadway has been blocked off while police conduct their investigation.
