SAN DIEGO - An investigation was under way Wednesday in the Core-Columbia area of downtown San Diego, where a 24-year-old was wounded when he was shot five times by someone he was talking to, police said.

The shooter and the victim were talking in the 900 block of Broadway Avenue around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday when the shooter pulled out a gun and fired it at the victim, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

The shooter was inside a vehicle similar to a Mazda Rx7, Delimitros said, noting the vehicle had several stickers on its rear window and was last seen headed east on Broadway Avenue.
