SAN DIEGO -  

Police in Sorrento Valley are investigating an armed robbery at an area liquor store Thursday night.

Officers said the robbery occurred at about 9 p.m. at the BevMo store on 6755 Mira Mesa Blvd.  

According to police reports, a man came in to the store, filled a basket with liquor and started walking out without paying. When he was confronted by a store clerk, the man pulled out a handgun and ran away. 

Investigators said no arrests have been made.

Police described the culprit as a short man in his 20s with a medium build and acne. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants.
