Shooting Victim Transported To Scripps Mercy Hospital

San Diego police gang detectives Friday investigated a shooting in Bay Terraces that sent a 33-year-old man to the hospital with a wound to his left thigh, police said.

The man was shot while standing in a doorway in the 2400 block of Manzana Way about 10:15 p.m. Thursday, according to San Diego police Sgt. Todd Sluss.

The shooter ran away, the sergeant said in a statement. Police described him as black, around 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 10 and 180 to 200 pounds.

Sluss said the gunman wore a gray hoodie.
