Police investigate bank break-in in Rancho San Diego

Suspect threw rock into glass door of bank

RANCHO SAN DIEGO, Calif. - A person was arrested Thursday after trying to break into a bank in Rancho San Diego, police said.

The attempted robbery took place at 3:30 a.m. at a Wells Fargo bank on Jamacha Road.

Deputies said the suspect used a large rock to break the front door.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a burglary alarm. They found the suspect standing outside of the door and took him into custody.

Crews cleaned up the damage at the bank and it is expected to be open at 9 a.m.
