Police: Homeless man assaulted in Hillcrest

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 43-year-old man allegedly attacked a sleeping transient with a bottle in a Hillcrest alley today because the victim had told him earlier to be quiet.
Police were told by a tipster, in the midst of the assault shortly before 6:30 a.m., that one transient man was beating another with a bottle in the south alley off Robinson Avenue near 10th Street, according to San Diego police Officer Frank Cali.
The 53-year-old victim sustained a large cut on the back of his head and some other minor injuries, but did not seek medical treatment, Cali said. The victim told police he was assaulted by a man whom had told him to stop making noise, according to the officer.
Police found Arlando Taylor nearby and arrested him for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, according to Cali and jail records. He is due in court for arraignment at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
