Police: Gang-Related Shooting Leaves Boy Shot In Leg

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg Sunday in the Terlata East neighborhood in what police described as a gang-related shooting.
Police responded to the the 4100 block of Marlborough Avenue at 1:18 a.m.
The victim and a friend were walking when several men in a silver compact sedan approached them, Sgt. Rich Nemetz said in a statement.
The suspects in the sedan issued a gang challenge and one of them fired a handgun before taking off, Nemetz said.
The 16-year-old was hit in the leg and transported to an area hospital for treatment, Nemetz said.
Police did not offer any other details about the shooting.
