Police, FBI seek help identifying Carlsbad bank robber

CARLSBAD, Calif. - A long-haired, heavyset man wearing sunglasses robbed a North County bank on Monday.

The thief, who appeared to be in his mid-20s to early 30s, handed a demand note to a teller at the US Bank branch office in the 7700 block of El Camino Real in Carlsbad shortly after 11 a.m., according to the FBI. He repeated the demand verbally before being handed an undetermined amount of money and walking out of the bank.

Witnesses described the robber as a white man who was roughly 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 220 pounds with with dark shoulder-length hair. He was clad in jeans, an orange shirt, white undershirt, black hooded sweatshirt, black and white tennis shoes and black knit cap.
