EL CAJON, Calif. - Police in El Cajon said they are searching for a hit-and-run driver who crashed into a telephone pole and rolled their vehicle on a quiet street early Wednesday morning.
The El Cajon Police Department said the wreck occurred at around 1 a.m. in the 700 block of Murray Drive.
According to officers, the vehicle struck and sheared the telephone pole before flipping over upside down in the middle of the street. The driver then got out and ran from the scene, leaving the pole in a front yard and wires hanging.
Police shut down the street, and AT&T crews were called to repair the broken pole and telephone lines.
