Police: Burglar sets fires in North Park bar

SAN DIEGO - Authorities say at least one burglar broke into a bar in North Park and set several fires overnight Wednesday.

The break in occurred at the Ritual Tavern and Bar at 4095 30th St., sometime before 12:30 a.m. Thursday, after it had closed.

According to Officer David Stafford, San Diego police responded to a burglary alarm at the bar to find several small fires burning inside.

Stafford said officers doused the flames until crews with San Diego Fire-Rescue arrived. The damage was considered minor. It was not immediately known what items were stolen.

According to Stafford, the suspect broke in through a back door and used accelerant to start the fires.

The Metro Arson Strike Team is investigating.
