SAN DIEGO - A 47-year-old woman was arrested in Talmadge early Wednesday shortly after she stabbed a man she believed had stolen from her, police said.

The stabbing in the 5200 block of El Cajon Boulevard was reported at 2:23 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford. The woman confronted the 39-year-old victim about the alleged theft and a struggle ensued, he said in a statement.

During the struggle, the woman used a knife to stab the man in his abdomen, Stafford said, adding that the man was taken to a hospital but the wound was not life-threatening.

The woman was arrested at the scene, he said. Her name was not immediately released.

It was unclear what the woman believed the man had stolen from her.
