SAN DIEGO - A University Heights man was arrested at his home early Thursday on suspicion of domestic violence against his wife, who was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Officers were called to the couple's home in the 4300 block of Oregon Street around 3:30 a.m., said San Diego police Officer Frank Cali.
A roommate of the couple's reported walking in on a fight, finding the victim bleeding from the head and her husband armed with a gun, Cali said.
Officers arrived and ordered the man outside of the home, Cali said. He complied and the gun was confiscated.
Paramedics took the woman to an area hospital. The extent of her injuries was not immediately clear, though Cali said she was not shot and did not appear to suffer any life-threatening injuries.
Her husband was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon, Cali said.
