The two suspects walked into the hotel at 5300 Grand del Mar Court at about 2:50 a.m. and went to an ATM next to the elevator, San Diego police Officer Frank Cali said.

The pair loaded the machine onto the handcart and fled, Cali said.

Cali said it was unclear if the suspects broke into the cash machine before it was dumped in an open field in the 13600 block of Carmel Valley Road.

The suspects were both described as white men between 18 and 25 wearing dark hooded sweatshirts that covered their faces.
