Pit Bull Attacks Woman, Shot By Police

San Diego police shot a pit bull Wednesday when it lunged at officers after attacking a woman and biting her, 10News reported.

The shooting happened about 4:30 p.m. at an apartment in the 3900 block of Riviera Drive.

San Diego Police officers shot the animal three times but it was still alive when Animal Control officers arrived and took it away.

The extent of the injuries of the woman who was bitten is not yet known.
