EL CAJON - Police in El Cajon sought the public's help Friday in the search for a man who broke into an El Cajon pharmacy last month and got away with powerful painkillers.
The robber smashed a lobby window to gain entry to an office building at 250 Travelodge Dr. about 8:30 p.m. Aug. 18. He then smashed a second window to get into the Kaiser Pharmacy, according to El Cajon police Detective Steve Paz.
The man jumped over the countertop and rummaged through the medication shelf, taking an unknown amount of Oxycodone, Paz said.
The suspect was caught on surveillance video as he jumped back over the counter and fled, Paz said. Police believe the same man may be involved in more than one Kaiser Pharmacy burglary.
Police described the suspect as a 50-something white man with a medium build who stands between 5 feet 9 and 6 feet and weighs about 200 pounds. He was wearing a black polo shirt, tan cargo shorts, a blue ball cap, glasses and surgical-type latex gloves.
Anyone with information on the suspect was urged to call the El Cajon Police Department's Investigations Division at (619) 441-5507.
