Sunday is one of the busiest days of the Thanksgiving travel season, even topping the Wednesday before the holiday, according to airline industry group, Airlines for America.

Shivani Pillay flew from San Francisco to San Diego early Sunday morning. In San Francisco, she said it was smooth sailing. "It was good, it wasn't crowded," Pillay said.

But once she arrived in San Diego, things looked different. "It was so crowded, there were so many people at security, it was really crazy," said Pillay.

Crowds of people waited in line at Lindbergh Field to go through security. Outside the airport, people came to drop off and pick up their loved ones.

With so many people flying during Thanksgiving week, some are concerned due to the recent terrorist attacks. While there were no threats made at Lindbergh Field, Harbor Police beefed up its presence.

"In San Francisco, someone left their bag unattended and it ended up being a family that had three little boys and they just completely forgot, but everyone was stressed out, like unattended bag," said Sloan Westhoff.

Travelers are being extra vigilant this holiday season and thankful for their safety.

"I feel safe and confident that TSA does their jobs," said Westhoff.
