SAN DIEGO - A pedestrian was struck and killed by a big rig on Interstate 5 near downtown San Diego on Thursday.
The incident occurred just before 7 p.m. on northbound I-5 near Sixth Avenue when someone jumped in front of a big rig on the freeway.
The driver of the big rig was unable to avoid hitting the pedestrian, who died at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved.
