VISTA, Calif. - A pedestrian was hospitalized Monday after being struck by a vehicle in Vista.

The crash occurred near Melrose and Ascot drives just before 8 p.m., according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

Paramedics performed CPR on the pedestrian, who was later transported to Palomar Medical Center to be treated.

It is unclear what caused the crash.
