SAN DIEGO - A 23-year-old woman died after being hit by a car near UCSD in La Jolla early Saturday morning.

The woman and her boyfriend were walking along the La Jolla Village Drive off ramp and the I-5 freeway, where they attempted to cross the street.

A 22 year old female driving a Toyota Corolla westbound on La Jolla Village Drive collided with the 23 year old woman.

Medics were called to the scene at 1:30 a.m. They were unable to revive the woman.

Police say the driver was not at fault, and think the victim had been drinking at the time of the accident.
